Description

In winter, the reservoir of Talsperre Spremberg is home to Whooper Swan, Common Goldeneye and different geese. In summer, waders and warblers breed there and in the surrounding woods different tits and Goldcrest can be found.

Access

By public transport: The train from Cottbus to Zittau stops in Bagenz (per request) and Spremberg. Follow the sign; the hiking paths are well-marked. By bike: The cycle-paths on both sides of the reservoir are well-marked. By car: There are tourist areas on both sides of the reservoir near the dam. Follow the signs from Spremberg or Cottbus.
