The Tauerwiesenteich is located in a forest area and is surrounded by some smaller meadows. In addition to Common Crane, you can observe Osprey and White-tailed Eagle in the area. In the breeding season you can hear the call of the Great Bittern and the Reed Warbler and Great Reed Warbler. In autumn, during bird migration, different species of waders make a stop here.

The Tauerwiesenteich is located on the road between Förstchen and Tauer. From the road there is a branch to the lake and a parking space. A path runs along the shore and there is a bird observation tower.
