The Tennenloher Forst is a nature reserve of 936 hectare within a 25 thousand hectare forest called Nürnberger Reichswald. There is an open former military training ground of 90 hectare in its core that became a nice place to see birds such as Eurasian Nightjar, Woodcock and Whinchat and many other birds. Przewalski's horses roam free here and keep the area open.

From the parking (see P on the map) you can make a circular walk (see the map) of about 4 km.
