It's a renaturalized area next to river Neckar with several ponds of different sizes, some reed patches and a billabong
During springtime many rather common breeding birds like Reed Warbler, Greater Whitethroat, Common Kingfisher, Greylag Goose, Grey Heron and single pairs of Eurasian Wryneck are present. During autumn migration some Common Snipe and Common Sandpiper, Water Rail and single Individuals of Spotted Crake. High numbers of Greylag Goose and Egyptian Goose. In August and September some Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Great Reed Warbler and Marsh Warbler, many Common Kingfisher (up to 20 Ind), some Penduline Tit, Reed Bunting, all three Wagtail species and a slight chance of seeing Black-crowned Night Heron. Later in autumn and winter different species of ducks, Great Cormorant and Goosander. All year present are Little Grebe, Eurasian Coot, Eurasian Moorhen, Common Kingfisher and Peregrine Falcon.
Best way by car. By train it's good to have a bike, because the way from the train station is rather long.
