Description
Park the car at the southern side of Skala Katerinis/ Olympiaki Akti and follow the beach southwards. Species that can be found here are Corn Bunting, Stone-curlew and European Bee-eater. Reaching the river mouth, species that can be expected are Black-winged Stilt, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Glossy Ibis, Purple Heron, Pygmy Cormorant, Mediterranean Gull and Slender-billed Gull.
On the way back it might be worth to do a detour and follow the river upstream and after a while turn northwards.
