Hortobágy-halastó Nature Trail

Province Debrecen  >  Hungary

Halastó is a Ramsar site maintaining breeding and migrating waterfowl populations of outstanding importance.

Added by Michael Taurus

Description

Its birdlife, including breeding and migrating species, is particularly valuable. In the last 35 years, nearly 300 species have been observed here, which makes the area one of the most important bird habitats in Central Europe.

Very nice observations possible. Bluethroat at the entrance, a bunch of Bearded Tit at the end of the walk. The birdlist provides a list of species that has been observed by us.

We had no luck with Aquatic WarblerMenetries's Warbler and Glossy Ibis, but should be possible in the area.
