Padule Orti-Bottagone is a flat coastal area, surrounded by power plants, with brackish and freshwater swamps. It's a great place for birdwatching.
This WWF Oasis is a valuable testament to past extensive swamps in the low Cornia Valley, which have disappeared as a result of the reclamations. In a flat coastal area, surrounded by industrial plants, the brackish swamp and freshwater swamp of the Bottagone form, together, a true Oasis of biodiversity. It guarantees adequate habitats for many animal and plant species, especially for many species of birds.
Birds that can be seen are Greater Flamingo, Black-winged Stilt, Avocet, Eurasian Spoonbill, Common Shelduck, White Stork, Black Stork, Little Egret, Osprey.
