Description

The Nature Park of the Lakes of Avigliana is important for the migratory birds that find here a safe shelter in their annual routes. The park extends over 410 hectares and includes the two glacial lakes set in the heart of the protected territory, the marsh area of Mareschi and the hills where the medieval town of Avigliana rises with the remains of Savoy castle. You may walk the panoramic footpath around the lakes or engage in an easy hike along the mareschi swampland.

The park can be travelled over marked paths where you can also ride a horse or a bike. On the southern banks of Small Lake (area F.I.P.S.) there is also a refreshment bar which is open in spring and in summer and has a wide parking lot and a furnished area.
