Description
A hike to Phulchowki Hill gives the opportunity for watching Nepal's only endemic bird species: the Spiny Babbler. Best for the watching birds documented in ICIMOD documentation (Godavari Birds by Karen Conniff, Ron Hess, and Erling Valdemar Holmgren), this location tracks roughly 270 bird species. Visiting guarantees a chance to witness the endemic Spiny Babbler alongside these key species highlighted in their research: Fire-tailed Sunbird (Aethopyga ignicauda), Himalayan Cutia (Cutia nipalensis), Red-billed Leiothrix (Leiothrix lutea), Kalij Pheasant (Lophura leucomelanos). Furthermore diverse flocks and sprawling canopy groups of Laughingthrushes, Yuhinas, Fulvettas, Minivets, and Tits can be observed.
