APL-polder

Zuid-holland  >  Netherlands

New rewilded nature area along the Hollands Diep. Lots of rough vegetation and water. Nice birding and views from a bird watching tower.

Description

APL Polder is an abbreviation for Albert-, Pieters-, Leendertspolder. Many bird species, beavers and deer can be seen. Scottish Highland-cattle keep the vegetation short in certain areas. Varied nature on a small surface: open water, old 'grienden' (moist fields on which willow wood was grown), grazed meadow.
