This is a flat and typical Dutch polder. An open area with beautiful vast meadows, winding ditches, old farms, dikes, polders and lots of meadow birds. During spring and early summer meadow birds like Black-tailed Godwit, Common Redshank, Northern Lapwing and Eurasian Curlew can be found here and are very visible. It's best to explore the area by bike because many roads are closed for cars.
Take exit Nijkerk from highway A28 and you are allready in the area. The central part of Arkemheen is described in another birdingplace on this website. The part described here is the most eastern part of the polder which is also rich in birds.
