In Geestmerambacht you will find a mix of wetland, reedland and grassland located nearby  a recreation area. Good for seeing many birds.

A recreational area with a large lake surrounded by a park-like landscape with woodlands, lawns, beaches, reed banks. For birds there are places to rest and forage especially in autum/ winter when you can see birds like Common Teal, Greylag Goose and  Eurasian Spoonbill. In summer European Marsh Harrier, Bluethroat, European Stonechat and many more. In springtime the area is used as a breedingplace for some species. Like Avocet, Black-tailed Godwit and more.




By car from Alkmaar going north following N245, then go left direction Koedijk following Nauertogt. Parkingplaces on the right in the recreation area "Geestmerambacht", or drive further on where there are a few  informal P, next to the see the best places for watching birds.
