Description

On this spot the brick factory in Udenhout has won clay for more than 100 years. 1 in 50 houses in the Netherlands was built with stones from Udenhout. A huge complex that is now given back to nature. The grasslands that surround the Leemputten are grazed. This creates gradual transitions from forest via thickets to grassland. They are ideal breeding grounds for birds. Amongst the birds you can see here are Osprey, Common KingfisherGolden OrioleEurasian Woodcock, many ducks and geese and sometimes rarities like Dotterel

Best explored on foot. You can enter the area at Heusdense Baan north-side of N65. For parking see the P on the map.
