Description

A recently renovated bird hide is located in the Lendepolder, a sub-area of the Lendevallei. The hide is located near a pond (a former polder flooded). It is remarkable that the Red-necked Grebe is occasionally seen here. In spring and summer Common Cuckoo and Marsh Warbler sometimes make themselves heard. In the winter half year many species of water birds reside here, including Gadwall, Northern Shoveler, Eurasian Wigeon, Common Teal, Greylag Goose and Bewick's Swan. Of the birds of prey, Common Buzzard and Eurasian Goshawk are regularly seen. So-called "bare groundbreeders" like Common Tern and Common Ringed Plover breed on an artificial island in the middle of the lake.
