Description

The Naardermeer (Naarder Lake) lies like a green oasis between Amsterdam and Hilversum. A protected natural lake surrounded by swamp forests and shallows. It consists of various lakes and marshes with clear water, dense swamp forest and marshy meadows. Rare animals such as the otter and Purple Heron live here. Also a very big colony of Great Cormorant. There are various good spots for birding (see the map).
