Noordmeer

Noord Holland  >  Netherlands

Wetland typical for a Dutch polder with reclaimed land in this region. Grasslands, shallow water and lots of wide views.

Description

Noordmeer offers a stunning typical Dutch landscape, tall grass and lots of shallow water. This place is ideal for Black-tailed Godwit, White Stork, Common Sandpiper and Eurasian Spoonbill. Easily accessible from paved roads from which you can spot all kinds of birds. The space is wide and open, allowing far distance spotting with good optics.

Access

Easily accessible as the entire area is close to villages. A bike ride is preferred of course, but if you come from far or otherwise have to use a car, I suggest parking at one of the official parking spots in Waterland. For example Parking in Waterland, Pierebaan 3 in Monnickendam (Phone number: +31 299 658 585, Website: www.waterland.nl)
