Description

The Oudeland van Strijen is a large grassland area with small gravel roads in between. The wet meadows are attractive for meadowbirds, waders and geese. There are two bird watching hides in the area. Among the birds you can see here are Hen Harrier, White-tailed Eagle, Avocet, Black-tailed Godwit, Common Redshank, European Golden Plover, Northern Shoveler, Eurasian Oystercatcher, European Golden Plover, Northern Lapwing, Eurasian Curlew, Barnacle Goose, Lesser White-fronted Goose, Canada Goose and Greater White-fronted Goose.

Nederlands: Het Oudeland van Strijen is een groot gebied met natte graslanden en met kleine grindweggetjes tussendoor. In de lente wordt het gebied met waterpompen ondersteund zodat veel steltlopers zich nestelen in het gebied. Er zijn twee vogelkijkplekken in het gebied. Vogels die je hier kunt zien zijn Hen Harrier, White-tailed Eagle, Avocet, Black-tailed Godwit, Common Redshank, European Golden Plover, Northern Shoveler, Eurasian Oystercatcher, European Golden Plover, Northern Lapwing, Eurasian Curlew, Barnacle Goose, Lesser White-fronted Goose, Canada Goose and Greater White-fronted Goose.

Access

Park at the beginning of the Molenweg then you can walk to one of the bird hides. Or park at the Strijen pumping station (another bird hide). Various routes possible via Waleweg, Moelenweg, Bovenweg (not by car) and the various gravel roads. Bicycle, car (partly), on foot.

Nederlands: Parkeren aan het begin van de Molenweg dan kan je naar één van de kijkhutten lopen. Of parkeren bij het gemaal van Strijen (dat is een andere kijkhut). Diverse routes mogelijk via Waleweg, Molenweg, Bovenweg (niet met de auto) en de diverse grindweggetjes. Fiets, auto (deels), te voet.
