Poplar forest with some old trees on the edge of a big lake. Although is only a small area it has an amazing diversity of birds.

Description

Populierenbosje means little poplar forest. It is a narrow stretched area along the lake of Zevenhuizerplas. It has reedbeds and water puddles. There are some more nature reserves around it. As a result, many birds can be seen in this tiny area. This place is known for many special and some rare species. Among the birds you could see here are Little Bittern, Savi's Warbler, Great Bittern, Cetti's Warbler, Little Grebe, Common Cuckoo, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Bearded Tit, Bluethroat, Blackcap, Red-crested Pochard ,Common Pochard, Long-eared Owl ,Grasshopper Warbler, Common Buzzard ,Great Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker and Reed Bunting.
