The Kristalbad consists of 9 large water reservoirs that are part of a water treatment plant. A wide range of waterfowl can be found here. Little Grebe in particular are very common here. The crystal clear water has a wealth of underwater fauna from which various divers benefit. The reservoirs are bordered by reed collars and reed fields, which also brings bird species with them, such as Spotted Crake, Water Rail, Great Reed Warbler, and Great Bittern, to name just a few species. Some wooded patches are present on the outer edges, which hold Eurasian Green Woodpecker and Great Spotted Woodpecker. Common Kingfisher and Grey Wagtail can also be found here. The area can be nicely overlooked from the 2 observation towers.
Parking spaces are available. The area is only accessible on foot or by bicycle on the designated paths.
