Description
The area is a perfect place for birding. It is an area within the coastal lagoon of the Mar Menor, in which you can observe many species. Waders such as: Whimbrel, Eurasian Curlew, Common Ringed Plover, Common Greenshank or Dunlin among many other species stand out.

Español: Las encañizadas es uno de los humedales de mayor importancia de la Región de Murcia. Se encuentra dentro del parque de las Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar. El area es una zona perfecta para la localización de aves. Se trata de una zona dentro de la laguna litoral del mar menor, en la cual puedes observar muchisimas especies sin apenas realizar recorrido alguno, una vez que llegas al destino. Destacan limícolas como: Whimbrel, Eurasian Curlew, Common Ringed Plover, Common Greenshank o Dunlin entre otras muchas más especies.

Access
Las Encañizadas del Mar Menor is located directly south of the town of San Pedro del Pinatar. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. To get to the site from the parking you need to walk or bike approximately 3.5 kilometers. But the walk and the pedestrian section to the destination, is very beautiful. You walk on a kind of pier with water on both sides and along the way you can already see plenty of birds like terns and gulls.

Español: Para llegar hasta el lugar es recomendable realizar el recorrido previo al destino en bicicleta, ya que hay una distancia que solo puede realizarse andando o en bici, ya que es un paseo peatonal aproximadamente de 3,5 kilometros. Si se va a pajarear con tiempo, también se puede realizar el tramo peatonal hasta el destino andando, el lugar es muy bonito.

A nice extra is the colony of Pallid Swift in the white tower next to the old windmill. Marked with 1 on the map. The swifts nest so low that you can observe and photograph them very well.
