A huge rockface carved out by the river Tagus. A large observation platform allows for great views and above all, one of the best birdwatching experiences in Europe.
Follow the EX-208 for 10,5 km (from Torrejon el Rubio), then park your car at the parking just before the viewpoint (on the left side of the road). When coming from the North (Plasencia), follow the EX-208 towards Torrejon el Rubio for around 32 km.

This is the best spot in the park for Black Stork, of which there are two pairs at this site. Black Vulture is also a regular here.
The entire National park is amazing for (nearly) all the spectaculair species of the Iberian fauna. Also the Embalse the Arrocampo with it's great range of marshland birds, is just over an hour drive away.
The birds are the main attraction, but Monfrague has a fantastic range of reptiles (Ocellated lizard, various snakes, Spanish terrapin, which is common in the rivers and streams, and many more) and mammals (red deer and wild boar are numerous, red fox and mongoose are relatively common, if hard to find and even Iberian lynx, altough extremely rare, occurs in the general area).
