Description
Çelebibağı Marshes has different habitats that attract many bird species. The landscape is unique with vast mud flats in the Lake Van closed basin. Shorebirds and other water birds are abundant and the diversity of birds is impressive. Among the birds you can observe in the area are Ruddy Shelduck, Greater Flamingo, Water Rail, Common Crane, Garganey, Black-winged Stilt, Avocet, Common Ringed Plover, Western Marsh Harrier, Short-toed Snake Eagle, Long-legged Buzzard, Penduline Tit, European Bee-eater, European Roller, but also rare birds like Whooper Swan, Bewick's Swan, Red-necked Phalarope and many more.
