Description
Lake Erçek is surrounded by mountains and hills. The patchy reedbeds and mudflats attracts many bird species. During the breeding season it is easy to see White-headed Duck and during the autumn Lesser White-fronted Goose flocks are coming to the lake area. On the other side, there are many other species to see such as Ruddy Shelduck, Greater Flamingo, Black-crowned Night Heron, Greylag Goose, Eurasian Nightjar, Common Crane and Common Pochard.

It easy to reach Lake Erçek by car. Public transport is also available but the frequency in a day need to be take into account. It is possible to drive around the lake by car (65 km). Click on a P in the map for directions.
