Description
Around the Yedikır Dam, there is a plain where the wintering Short-eared Owl population occurs. Also, the wintering Greater White-fronted Goose flocks occur around the dam. Beside, the Demoiselle Crane breeds close to the dam which is the modern breeding couple of the species in Turkey. Stone-curlew can be seen in the northern part of the lake in the flat dusty areas. You can see Little Ringed Plover, White-tailed Eagle, Common Quail, Ferruginous Duck, Common Pochard and many more. Also, this area always has a possibility to see rare species there such as Barnacle Goose which is the second record for Turkey. Eagle Owl can be seen there which would be an uncommon record of the species. Therefore, it is obvious that you should go to the dam area to do birdwatching if you can.
