Description
In Kalba Mangroves Reserve many gulls, terns, herons and waders can be seen in the mangroves and on the large mudflats with various limestone areas. Also many different sea turtles can easily be observed in the strong tidal rivers. Delimited towards the sea by dunes which are grazed by gazelles. With a bit of luck, the last pairs of the Arabian Collared Kingfisher (Todiramphus chloris kalbaensis) can be observed in the mangroves.

Access
Access to Kalba Mangroves Reserve is only possible through the Khor Kalba Mangrove Center. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. Entrance fee AED 15.50 (2024). Opening hours: Sun, Tues-Thurs 9am-6:30pm, Sat 11am-6:30pm, Fri 2-6:30pm, Monday closed. At the Khor Kalba Center, some bird species can be observed in aviaries. There is a restaurant in the Khor Kalba Center.
