Description
Brandon Marsh has 8 bird hides situated around the reserve, overlooking pools hosting flocks of Eurasian Wigeon, Common Teal and Northern Shoveler in winter, amongst smaller numbers of Common Goldeneye. Scrapes host passage waders in spring and autumn, with breeding Common Redshank, Eurasian Oystercatcher and Little Ringed Plover in summer. Other notable breeding species include good numbers of Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler and Cetti's Warbler, Common Cuckoo and Water Rail. Eurasian Hobby are everpresent throughout summer and into autumn. During the winter Brandon is often host to a Caspian Gull which winters amongst the gulls on East Marsh, with a few Yellow-legged Gulls mixed in too. Notable rarities over the last few years have included Broad-billed Sandpiper and Pectoral Sandpiper, Red Phalarope, Eurasian Wryneck and Woodchat Shrike.

Located off Brandon lane, best access is by driving but it is possible to cycle or walk from nearby Brandon village or Binley. Once parked, explore the reserve on foot.
