Description
Hamstreet Woods is good for birds of deciduous broadleaved woodland. The area is managed to encourage natural diversity. The forest is home to a variety of warblers, Marsh Tit, Eurasian Nuthatch, Common Nightingale, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, Eurasian Bullfinch and other woodland nature. Access
Rail station and bus stop in Hamstreet village, a short walk away. Entrance to the woodland is at the end of Bourne Lane in Hamstreet village where limited parking is available. Click on the P in the map to get directions. There are 3 way-marked trails (varying between 2.5 and 5 kilometres) through the reserve. The circular route indicated on the map below is 3 km long.
