Description
Merkinch is an area of tidal pools and mudflats, reedbeds, ponds, saltmarsh and scrub. Birds seen include Common Goldeneye, Common Eider, all three diver species, Long-tailed Duck, Slavonian Grebe, Razorbill, White-throated Dipper, Rock Pipit, Eurasian Siskin, Brambling, Parrot Crossbill, Grasshopper Warbler, Osprey and Sparrowhawk.

Merkinch is the NW suburb of Inverness. Follow Thornbush road/Kessock road to the terminus where parking is available. Regular bus service.
