Description
Beautiful views and plenty of places to explore in a relatively small area, including the pier, rockpools, and beach. Parking and places to eat also in abundance. Huge noisy colony of Kittiwake breed underneath the pier in late summer, allowing for very close and intimate views of chicks and adults with little disturbance. In summer, this is a reliable place to see Mediterranean Gull, often side by side with Black-headed Gull. Through winter, flocks of Sanderling, Eurasian Oystercatcher, and European Herring Gull can be seen regularly, along with Great Cormorant, Great Black-backed Gull, and Lesser Black-backed Gull. Red-throated Diver have also been reported here.
