Description
From September to November, and in April/May Painswick hill is good for seeing migrants, especially early morning. Hundreds of Common Wood Pigeon, European Golden Plover, Common Chaffinch, Common Starling, Fieldfare, Redwing and Eurasian Jay can pass through. Also Brambling, Eurasian Siskin, Hawfinch, Yellowhammer, Eurasian Hobby, Peregrine Falcon, Merlin, Ring Ouzel, Red Kite, Sparrowhawk and Hen Harrier possible. 4 miles south of Gloucester on B4073 Painswick road. M5 junction 12. 66 bus from Cheltenham stops nearby. Be aware of golfers, dont obstruct play or become an accidental target. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 4,5 km.
