Description
Parc Bryn Bach is a country park with lake. Common Kingfisher nest sites on the island. The area also has a Sand Martin colony. Eurasian Skylark, Red Kite, Great Crested Grebe, Tufted Duck. Occasional rarity, eg Lesser Scaup in 2013. The moors to the south, with footpath access, rise to 450 metres, look for possible European Stonechat, Northern Wheatear, Eurasian Nightjar, Common Buzzard, Common Raven, Meadow Pipit, Common Cuckoo, White-throated Dipper or Grey Wagtail.

From A465 Heads of the Valleys road, take Tredegar turning, then first right on minor road for half a mile. Car park on the left. Click on the P in the map for directions. Buses from Abergavenny or Cardiff. No train station nearby.
