Description
In winter there are thousands of ducks and Whooper Swan at RSPB Ouse Washes. It's a magical spectacle. Northern Lapwing, Common Redshank and Common Snipe breed in spring and the area attracts good passage migrants in spring and autumn. Common Crane are often seen year round and gather from autumn in flocks of nearly 100 if you're lucky to see them. It's out the way so usually quiet with minimal disturbance. Other birds that can be observed are Spotted Redshank, Dunlin, European Golden Plover, Western Marsh Harrier, Black-tailed Godwit, Garganey and Bewick's Swan and a great variety of ducks.
