Description
The flooded former gravel workings in the Kennet valley running over four miles from south west Reading to Sulhampstead attracts birds all year round. Among the birds you can encounter are Blackcap, Lesser Whitethroat, Garden Warbler, Cetti's Warbler, Eurasian Hobby and Common Nightingale. There is a substantial population of Winter ducks, mostly dabbling, including hundreds of Tufted Duck, Gadwall and Eurasian Wigeon and the odd Common Goldeneye.
