Description
Staines Moor consists of alluvial flood meadows and is of year round interest. Winter and spring are great for Short-eared Owl, Barn Owl, Water Rail, Water Pipit, Common Snipe and Jack Snipe. During the summer Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler and Common Kingfisher breed. In passage periods major rarities such as Brown Shrike and Black Stork have occurred.

Access
You can park on Moor Lane in Staines or Hithermoor Road in Stanwell Moor. Moor Lane has good signage explaining access and Hithermoor Road has a public footpath by the side of the North Basin of Staines Reservoir (you cannot view it from this area). Click on a P in the map for directions. Reaching Staines Moor by train or bus would involve a 30 minute walk from central Staines. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 3 km.
