Description
Stoke Woods is a mixed woodland now designated as a Country Park. Being so close to Exeter it can get VERY BUSY especially during Summer and at Weekends. A visit earlier in the day on Weekdays may be better time to visit with a good chance to see Eurasian Woodcock, some other species are Great Spotted Woodpecker and the ever rarer Lesser Spotted Woodpecker especially during February/March.
The Woods are good for numerous other passerines such as Siberian Chiffchaff, Wood Warbler, Willow Warbler, Garden Warbler, Blackcap.
