Description
The Meadows is a recreation ground sandwiched between the River Tavy in the South and the Tavistock Canal on it's Nothern edge. Whilst most birds are of commoner species, White-throated Dipper, Grey Wagtail and Eurasian Moorhen and Mallard can often be found on both river or canal. During harsh Winters especially with freezing conditions on nearby Dartmoor Meadow Pipit and even Common Buzzard sometimes seek shelter near the park, both Redwing and Fieldfare are annual winter visitors depending on temperature. During Summer the odd Western Yellow Wagtail turns up occasionally.
