What are good travel destinations for you as a birdwatcher? To help birders find the right birding destinations we have started a new kind of infopage on Birdingplaces: ‘In the spotlight’. On these pages we focus on a specific region or geographic area that is interesting for birders and show all the interesting birding sites in the area.
A spotlight page contains a general description of the area and a handy overview map of the area with all the interesting birdwatching areas. You can zoom in directly on the overview map or click on the areas for more details. In a photo gallery, birds and landscape photos give an impression of the area.
The first ‘In the spotlight’-page we publish is Tenerife. The place to be for seeing Canary Islands endemics such as the Canary, Tenerife Blue Chaffinch, Berthelot’s Pipit, Tenerife Goldcrest, Canary Islands Chiffchaff, Plain Swift, Laurel Pigeon and Bolle’s Pigeon.
