Beskrivning
Bistraka is a small lake between the river Struma and the A3 motorway. Its a great place for dvärgrördrom in the summer. Other birds you can observe include Silkeshäger, svart stork, vit stork, brunand, sydnäktergal, brun kärrhök kungsfiskare, biätare, backsvala, balkanspett and trastsångare. Seasonal migration brings flocks of swallows, wagtails, and warblers, while wintering ducks and geese use the area as resting grounds. The area has also seen rarities like vitögd dykand and aftonfalk.

Bistraka lake is located south of the town of Blagoevgrad. It has easy access next to a road. Press P on the map for directions. You can make a 2,5 km circular walk around the lake and also walk to the dams in the Struma river.
