Étang de Bolmon offers an interesting concentration of species within a small area, particularly during migration periods. During migration you can spot vit stork or the Brun glada (approx. 250 recorded species, of which around fifty are breeding). In summer, the reedbed hosts numerous heron species (Silkeshäger , ägretthäger , gråhäger , rallhäger , natthäger , dvärgrördrom, etc). In addition to the common wetland species, one encounters typical regional species such as större flamingo and bronsibis, as well as a beautiful diversity of ducks and other waterfowl varying according to the seasons (rödhuvad dykand, Skedand, årta, gravand, Smådopping, etc.).

Français: Jouxtant l'étang de Berre, l'étang de Bolmon est une lagune d'eau saumâtre composée de paluns, de roselières et de vasières avec observatoires aménagés. La zone offre sur une petite étendue une intéressante concentration d'espèces, en particulier en période de migration comme la vit stork ou le Brun glada (env. 250 espèces recensées dont une cinquantaine nicheuses). Étang de Bolmon is located adjacent to the Étang de Berre, west of the town of Marignane. Best way to get there is by car to the Paluns car park. Press p on the map for directions to the parking. From the parking an easy path leads to the two observatories on the protected wetlands: the Paluns observatory and the Barlatier observatory. Access to the wetlands itself is prohibited. The walking route shown on the map is about 2 km one way (4 km out and back).
