Mauensee is a beautiful lake, complete with a little island boasting it’s own castle. There’s a trail leading around the lake (3,3 km). It's a beautiful walk very close to Sursee. vit stork, gråhäger are breeding birds here. During migration anything is possible.
Among the birds you can see in winter are Skedand, knipa and storskrake.
