Vali Recep Yazıcıoğlu Barajı is a big artificial lake directly to the east of Denizli. Many water birds are attracted to the area. Among the birds you can see on and around the reservoir are vit stork, Smådopping, Silkeshäger, ljungpipare, kustpipare, roskarl, tofsvipa, sporrvipa, större strandpipare, mindre strandpipare, årta, bläsand, rödhuvad dykand, vigg, vitögd dykand and större flamingo.
