Beskrivning
Cardiff Bay is good for birds all year round. Residents include roskarl, svart rödstjärt, skärpiplärka and storskrake. The first can be seen on the green walkways in groups, whilst the rest can be seen basking on the rocky edges.
backsvala, hussvala and tornseglare can all be seen in summer. hussvala nest in ready-made boxes under the eaves of houses by the roundabout barrage entrance. backsvala nest in the walls of the bay.
strandskata can be seen on the barrage all year round, as well as rödbena. grönfink is another resident around the bay. When the tide goes out, many species, such as gravand can be seen feeding.
Winter visitors include dvärgmås. However, check sightings before going as they tend to move around a lot. Finally, rarities include svarthalsad dopping, alfågel and ringand.
