Beskrivning
Cissbury Ring is an 84.2-hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Worthing in West Sussex. It is owned by the National Trust and is a monument for its Neolithic flint mine and Iron Age hillfort. Cissbury Ring is the largest hill fort in Sussex, the second largest in England and one of the largest in Europe overall. The grasslands and scrub areas provide important habitats for birds. With breathtaking views in every direction and the feeling of being on top of the world Cissbury Ring is the perfect place to experience the wide-open spaces of the South Downs. In autumn the hill fort becomes a refuelling stop for migrating birds. Look out for the ringtrast, each October they arrive, to feed on the berry-rich trees. Other birds you can see at Cissbury Ring are lärkfalk, sparvhök, svarthätta, Fasan, tornseglare, Gråtrut, röd glada, större hackspett, Gröngöling, korp, entita, sånglärka, ärtsångare, törnsångare, svarthakad buskskvätta, stenskvätta, ängspiplärka, domherre, gulsparv, grå flugsnappare and rödstjärt.
