Beskrivning
Eyeworth Pond is a pond located near Fritham in the New Forest. The pond was created in 1871 by damming Latchmore Brook, with the purpose of supplying water to a nearby gunpowder factory. The factory closed in 1921 but the pond remains to this day. Eyeworth Pond is the best site in the New Forest for seeing mandarinand because of the small population that was once introduced and is now is resident on the pond. In winter you have a good chance to see storskrake on the pond. kungsfiskare occasionally flashes across the surface. Eyeworth is famous for its tame passerines. People have fed birds here for decades, so species that are normally shy come right to your boots. The car park is good for close views of birds like entita and nötväcka.
