Beskrivning
Loch Gruinart is one of the best places in Scotland to see alpkråka (northernmost nesting site), kornknarr (a few) and wintering geese (up to 50,000, mostly prutgås, vitkindad gås, grågås and spetsbergsgås, plus sångsvan). The RSPB reserve has a hide, a visitor centre and Natural history centre. Birds here include havsörn, kungsörn, stenfalk, blå kärrhök, vattenrall, småfläckig sumphöna, 16 regular wader species, 3 tern species, 3 diver species, jorduggla, vinterhämpling and skärpiplärka.
At the sea end of the loch, Ardnare Point is a good seawatch location for viewing havssula, divers, shearwaters, skuas, auks and sea ducks such as alfågel, sjöorre and småskrake. Best place also for alpkråka. Ardnare loch is favoured by wintering dabbling ducks - Kricka, bläsand, snatterand and Skedand.
