Middleton-in-Teesdale is a market town in County Durham. The settlement is surrounded by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spring offers a great opportunity of seeing a range of birds, including woodland specialists (svartvit flugsnappare rödstjärt), moorland specialists and bird of upland rivers such as orre, drillsnäppa and strömstare. Among the other birds you can encounter are ringtrast, forsärla, grönsiska and sånglärka.
