Beautiful views and plenty of places to explore in a relatively small area, including the pier, rockpools, and beach. Parking and places to eat also in abundance. Huge noisy colony of tretåig mås breed underneath the pier in late summer, allowing for very close and intimate views of chicks and adults with little disturbance. In summer, this is a reliable place to see svarthuvad mås, often side by side with skrattmås. Through winter, flocks of sandlöpare, strandskata, and Gråtrut can be seen regularly, along with Storskarv, havstrut, and silltrut. smålom have also been reported here.

Parking available throughout Mumbles within walking distnace, and some limited parking available right next to the pier itself. Recommend parking in the 'Big Apple Car Park' on the clifftop above the pier for great views. Cycling is common, including the use of the Swansea Santander hire bikes.
