Beskrivning
The Solway Firth is an extensive and remote area of saltmarsh, mudflats, sandy coast, dunes and reedbeds attracting a wide range of wetland birds. Breeding and passage waders include rödbena, roskarl, strandskata and storspov. Winter wildfowl and seabirds include Skedand, Kricka, sångsvan, spetsbergsgås, vitkindad gås, knipa, ejder, and divers, grebes, and auks. Also look out for Silkeshäger, kungsfiskare, sånglärka, svarthakad buskskvätta and ängspiplärka. Otters are possible, plus seals, porpoise and dolphin offshore. At Grune Point the receding sea leaves tidal lagoons ideal for rockpooling.
